"We made a couple of albums," states Maceo, "but it didn't really happen." "Funky Machine" (1972) was recorded for Excello but remained in the vaults until now. Personnel includes longtime James Brown guitarist Jimmy "Chank" Nolen. The material ranges from 70's funk to subdued pop, including half originals and covers like the Beatles' "For No One" and "Something," and Traffic's "Feelin' Alright" and more.
